10-Minute Vegan TVP Tacos
For those crazy weekday lunches, this plant-based vegan TVP tacos will fill you up! And it only takes 10 minutes to put it all together.
What is Textured Vegetable Protein or TVP?
Textured vegetable protein or TVP is a soy-based meat alternative. You can find it in most groceries stores and specialty stores should have it on their shelves. The most popular brand is Bob's Red Mill and in the bag is the dried soy curls.
How Do You Prepare Textured Vegetable Protein or TVP?
Once TVP is reconstituted it looks like ground meat. The key to making TVP taste good is to cook it in a sauce or, like with this recipe, heavily season it with taco seasoning. And honestly, it tastes like meat and doesn't have a soy aftertaste. Whenever I make this and add the taco seasoning, my tummy starts grumbling!
It is a good candidate for your meatless Monday lineup.
