Saltine Toffee Brickle
Simple ingredients like saltine crackers, butter, sugar, and chocolate come together to a form a sweet, salty, and crunchy candy. This is a holiday tradition in our house to make this and to giveaway to friends and family.
Ingredients:
20 saltine crackers
1 stick of butter
1/2 cup of sugar
1 cup baking chocolate chips
splash of vanilla
Maldon salt
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
Layout saltine crackers in an even layer in the lined pan.
Melt butter and sugar in a small saucepan. Stir until the sugar dissolves in the butter.
Pour the mixture over the saltines and smooth. Place in the oven for 10 minutes, watch that it doesn't burn.
Take it out of the oven and scatter the chocolate chips over the crackers.
Return to the oven for two minutes.
Take out the pan and smooth the chocolate into an even layer. Sprinkle Maldon salt.
Let the pan cool and then place in the freezer.
Once it sets, break it into bite-sized pieces. Keep in the refrigerator until ready to eat.
